Fresh
Produce and a Teaching Experience
| Produce is often missing from the diet
of the low income family. This is one reason why the garden at 255
South Chicago is so important. The garden also offers a teaching
experience for youngsters. Part of our cooking program is geared
toward youth. Many of them do not even know where the fruits and
vegetables they eat come from or even that they are grown in the ground.
Children and adults alike benefit from our garden. |
